Rating the Centers

Unless they invented another position that I don't know about yet, this should be the last in a series of posts in which I have used ezPM to rate the PG, SG, SF, and PF.

As for the centers, no surprise that Dwight and Pau would be leading their respective conferences. Duncan will obviously make the team. The question I have is whether a third center goes out West. Chandler seems deserving, doesn't he? Oh, well. Taller people than me make the decisions. As for the East, Noah would make it, but he's injured. Horford would be the other guy to make the East team.

For Warriors fans among you, Biedrins comes in at #22. If Smart ever decides to consistently involve him in the offense, I think his contribution will be much greater.

Oh, thought I should  mention this. To anyone who follows WoW, and is convinced that it doesn't really make a difference how rebounds are counted, ask yourself why Marcus Camby is ranked #1 among centers according to WP, but only #10 according to ezPM. Also, read this.

  1. I compared 30 EZPM100 for 30 top guys. (30 of last season's top 50 that I could match up quickly.) The only big gainer in the set was Rose at nearly 2 points with no one else gaining more than 0.5.

Those losing 2 or more points were
    (from less loss to more)

    Howard
    Duncan
    Wade
    Billups
    Durant
    James

A full league comparison would catch more movers.

  2. I used past files from you but did not realize that maybe they were not comparable on rebounds. So toss out these rankings. A fair comparison probably ought to be done over in the future. Thanks for the new file.
